Xbox 720 Rumors Whisper a 2013 Holiday Release

Xbox 720 Rumors Whisper a 2013 Holiday Release

Which is most believable?
ComplexGames – A new report at Bloomberg claims that the next Xbox console, for now referred to as the Xbox 720, will debut by the 2013 holiday season.
Bloomberg cites some unnamed sources, who reportedly claim that the Xbox 720 could go on sale as early as Thanksgiving, likely to take advantage of the massive Black Friday shopping weekend.
Microsoft could reportedly unveil the next Xbox console at E3 2013 in June, Bloomberg says, though the company may also hold a separate event to announce the new console.
Over the summer aa Microsoft job listing appeared to confirm that the Xbox 720 would arrive by Feb. 2014, which falls in line nicely with today’s report. More recently, a series of developer leaks caused Microsoft to lock down its software department, likely in preparation for Xbox 720 development crunch time.

It’s about time we hear something from the guys over at Xbox. When the last system was released, we were probably all in High School! Although nothing is set in stone, it has been mentioned that the new Xbox system will see shelves about a year from now, just in time for the 2013 holiday season. Although none of the features of the new system have been confirmed, there is much speculation surrounding the topic.
To start, the system will be significantly more powerful then its predecessor. According to TechTrader, “graphics setup in the Xbox 720 will be “like two PCs taped together”". The obvious focus of the next generation Xbox will be the recently released Xbox Kinect; interactive game-play. Talk of augmented reality working hand-in-hand with the updated controller has also been jumping around the web, definitely sparking the interest of popular game developers. In fact, many of the big players in the gaming world have already begun developing on the 720 platform. Amongst these exciting new features, the Xbox 720 is said to come loaded with BluRay capabilities, as well as 3D features. The idea of 3D game play interacting with augmented realistic controls is absolutely mind-blowing. Unfortunately, most of this is educated speculation so you will just have to sit tight for another year, anxiously waiting for the release of everyones favorite gaming system.
Xbox 720
The latest tech reports on Microsoft’s next console – tentatively named the Xbox 720 or Xbox Loop  – state the chipset has already been in production and game developers are working hard on new titles. The machine should be on shelves in time for Christmas, 2013.
Rumors that the new Xbox will simply be an update to the existing 360 are bunk, same to the theory that it will run on Windows. What is likely is that the system will launch at a cheaper price point than the 360. This could mean a new Microsoft console for under $300. You can bet the new console will be smaller than its predecessor and that Microsoft will continue to push the Kinect peripheral. Despite the company’s interest in casual and motion-based games, expect the next Xbox to continue Microsoft’s appeal to hardcore gamers.
